Incorporate up to 1.5 oz of fragrance oil per pound of wax, mixing gently for two minutes to ensure proper binding. For best results, add heavier fragrances (higher flash points) at 185°F and lighter, more delicate scents such as citrus at around 160°F to prevent evaporation. Allow the wax to cool to about 110°F—when it appears slightly slushy—and pour into containers. Let candles set naturally at room temperature for a smooth, even surface. Avoid heating above 200°F to prevent discoloration and fragrance degradation. If frosting appears after setting, use a heat gun or hair dryer on the candle’s surface for a polished finish.
