What happened???

"Not a good batch?? Has very strong chemical smell-I have used this base for years and never had this happen. It does tend to fade overtime, am thinking you are using new preservative? Am hoping future batches are MUCH better. Had same problem with the bath gel-it was not a gel at all and watery and a horrendous odor-totally unusable but customer service helped with that order."
