- Hi Louis, there are specific waxes for each application, and each type of wax offers different characteristics, so it depends on your desired results and preference. Certain types of wicks work best for each wax. Mold candles require a harder type of candle wax that shrinks a bit for easy mold release such as Pillar of Bliss Wax or Palm Pillar Wax. CD wicks work well with both of these, or you can try HTP wicks. For container candles, we recommend Joy Wax or Golden Brands 464 Soy Wax. We recommend testing CD wicks. - Hi Joselin, 464 is for container candles and is not recommended for use in molds. It is formulated to adhere to the sides and is too soft. Try using a pillar wax instead!
