Hello! Yes, you can! Usage rate for Optiphen is .75%- 1.5% of your formulation.

For a total recipe of 8 ounces, you would use 0.0075 - 0.12 ounces Optiphen.
How would you use this in a sugar scrub if you're not heating up the oils? Can you just added it and mix, or is heating necessary? Thank you
Thank you for your question! Directly add to a formulation during the pre or post emulsification phase below 140F (60C). If you add it to your product at above 140F (60C), it is highly likely that the heat will destroy much of the preserving qualities. Therefore, we suggest adding Optiphen to your formulation at around 120F just to be safe.
What is the shelf life of Optiphen?
Hello, thank you for your inquiry! All of our products have a best by date of 1 year from the date of purchase if stored in optimal conditions. After that, we strongly encourage testing the product in a small test batch to ensure it performs as intended and follows all required regulations.
