1 lb of the smelly jelly crystals. If I were to make these to sell at a craft fair, should I make them the day before? How long will they last? Will they dry out or will the customer need to add water constantly keep the beads plump?

Hi! Thanks for reaching out! We recommend waiting about 4 hours to allow them to set up. They will dry out and shrink over time, we do not have an exact measure of time. You might be able to refresh them by adding a little more water. However, we don't recommend adding additional water to them more than once.

Hello there! I wanted to try the smelly jelly, but I would like to know if there's any specific jar for them to pack. I looked into de kits section but I didn't see any with the smelly jelly. Thank you.

Hi Erika, any 8-oz. glass jar will work, including our 8-oz. jelly jars!

Can these be put into plastic or only glass?

Hi Abi, you will get the best performance with glass due to the porosity of plastic with the fragrance oil, but plastic #5 would work in a pinch.

Can you use fragrance oil alone and no water with jelly crystals, or do you need to have both water and oil?

Hello! Can distilled water be substituted with SD40 to make it alcohol based?

Hi Heidi, we don't recommend using SD40 with Smelly Jelly Crystals as the crystals are formulated for water hydration. Denatured alcohol evaporates too quickly and would be too drying, giving poor results.
