Step 1

1. Prior to starting, clean and sanitize your work area and all of your packaging materials. It is suggested that you wear gloves, protective clothing, and a hair net while preparing this recipe.

Step 2

2. Prepare the water. Place distilled water into a small pot and heat it to at least 180F, and hold for 20 minutes to kill bacteria. Note: I realize the recipe only calls for 182 grams of water, but if you don't heat enough water in this step, it will all evaporate. You will want to make sure that you have plenty of extra water.

Step 3

3. Prepare the dry ingredients. Weigh and mix the following together: 110 grams turmeric, 92 grams activated charcoal, and 4 grams Kaolin clay.

Step 4

4. Once the water is ready, weigh out 182 grams of the water. Add 6 grams xanthum gum. Stir thoroughly.

Step 5

5. Allow the temperature to drop to 140F. Add 4 grams Optiphen, 23 grams vegetable glycerin, and 5 drops of the geranium essential oil. Stir.

Step 6

6. Now, you can mix the remaining dry and wet ingredients. Blend it with the powdered mixture. Stir.

Step 7

7. Place the facial mask in the jars.

To Use

Apply an even thin layer of the facial mask to clean, dry skin, leave it on for about 15 minutes, then rinse.
