Def Turns Brown
"I didn’t have any trouble making cold process soap with this scent. No acceleration or ricing. The scent doesn’t seem too strong to me either in the bottle or the finished product. I def get a mocha scent and not too much of a coffee scent. Knowing it turns cp soap brown I left a bit without the fragrance and added a bit of zinc oxide for the top. I added 5% fragrance to the rest of my batter and added instant coffee to a bit of my batter to compare the color change from the fragrance. The coffee colored batter was poured into the mold first - I had planned on using unscented white shavings on top as a shaved white chocolate but added the coffee batter to the wrong bowl so the shavings are on the bottom. The next layer only had the cafe mocha FO added to it. And then the top was the portion unscented with zinc and swirled. Tried to do a gold mica pencil line between the first and second layer. Loaf was cut at 24 hours. After 3 days it only had a slight yellow tan color to it and now after a week the middle is turning a darker brown. The scent doesn’t seem strong or bad to me or my daughter but my husband wasn’t home when I made the soap and complained about a bad smell. Then I brought the soap to my daughter’s house and her husband came home and complained about a bad smell??? My recipe is olive, coconut shea and castor oil, so nothing there to really affect the smell"
