Q&A

Can this fragrance and others be used in a beard oil recipe?
Hi! Yes, it can. Since you are making a leave on beard product, you will want to follow IFRA guidelines for category 5B.
I used this at 5% for cold process soap and the scent faded so badly within days of cutting the loaf. Am I reading correctly that it can be used up to 18%? If so, I may try to make another batch.... my nephew really loves this scent. Please let me know. Thank you!
Hi Nora, the IFRA value is the maximum possible amount as it relates to safety only, and is not the actual recommended usage for optimal results. We don't recommend exceeding ~5% fragrance PPO. The issue could be with the recipe calculation or another factor. Ensure soap cures for 4-6 weeks, and consider adding Kaolin clay to aid fragrance retention. Are these oils good for candles or just soap??

You will still want to double check the IFRA certificate attached to each fragrance oil for the maximum usage rates. Candles are under Category 12 on the IFRA certificate.
