Activated Charcoal Scrub Recipe

22. 765 grams Sugar

23. Step 1: Use a double boiler to melt 153 grams Coconut Oil 76, 128 grams Macadamia Nut Oil, 83 grams Shea Butter, 70 grams Mango Butter, 63 grams Emulsifying Wax Traditional, 14 grams Beeswax, and 23 grams Jojoba Oil.

24. Step 2: While you are waiting, in a large mixing bowl, weigh out 765 grams of sugar. Set this aside, we will come back to it later.

25. Step 3: Prepare the activated charcoal. We will mix it with vegetable glycerin. This will help it disperse evenly throughout the scrub. In a small mixing bowl, add 6 grams of activated charcoal. Then, add 16 grams of vegetable glycerin. Mix well until you have a smooth consistency.

26. Step 4: Once your oils have melted, remove them from the heat. Allow the temperature to drop to 120-140 degrees Fahrenheit. Add 6 grams of the Optiphen preservative. Note: Temperature is extremely important for the preservative. If the temperature is above 140 degrees Fahrenheit it will burn off. Alternatively, if it is below 120 degrees Fahrenheit it will separate out of your scrub.

27. Step 5: Next, add 17 grams of arrowroot powder, 20 grams of Black Linen and Amber Fragrance Oil, and 6 grams of Vitamin E Oil. Then, mix well to fully incorporate your ingredients.

28. Step 6: Now, add the oils to the bowl of sugar you weighed out earlier. Stir to incorporate the oils into the sugar.

29. Step 7: Add the activated charcoal mixture you created earlier to the bowl. Then, mix very well to disperse the charcoal.

30. Step 8: Allow the scrub mixture to come to room temperature.

31. Step 9: Lastly, put the scrub into jars. You will need four of the 8 oz. black double wall jars. Then, place a black dome lid on each jar.
